Performance Pointers Archives Getting Fit Right Fit is everything. With the right fit, success is assured. So what constitutes “fit”? The ability to actually do the work required is a good start, but there are so many more factors impacting success. A Performance Audit of your organization can identify performance gaps and poor fit. Tailor-designed interventions are the key to improving the fit of your current and future staff. And with improved fit comes improved performance. In 2002, The Gallup Organization polled thousands of employers in North America , finding “We are sitting on a huge potential boom in productivity - if we could just get the square pegs out of the round holes.” Identifying an employee’s strengths, and aligning an employee’s potential and their personal goals with the organization’s objectives accomplishes several things:
- Improves productivity and overall job satisfaction A well-conceived Performance Improvement strategy is not chiefly about making people feel good; it is not a perk of the job. While “happier people” should obviously be an outcome of any performance intervention, the value of each program must be measured by the degree to which it is contributing to the organization’s performance.
